The eyeball sits in its socket rather like the trackball of a computer mouse. Six muscles coordinate eye movements. The superior oblique muscle is interesting, in that its tendon passes through a conveniently-placed ring of cartilage known as the TROCHLEA (Greek for ‘a pulley’). This pulley allows the superior oblique muscle to change its force of direction and work as an intorter

Every cell in the body needs oxygen to survive. The oxygen is carried through blood vessels to offload it cargo of oxygen, However, the cornea does not receive its oxygen via blood vessels. If the cornea was covered with blood vessels you’d be looking at the world through a mesh of red fibres and the love of your life would look like one of Dracula’s victims!

When we see with our eyes, the images formed on both retinas are upside-down and also left-right inverted! Fortunately for us, the brain corrects this, otherwise you’d try walking on the ceiling and shake people by their left hand!!
